The wisest of women builds her house, but with folly her own hands tear it down. Proverbs 14:1

When building a physical home, the foundation must be poured first so that everything else that is built upon it is firm and secure. Once the foundation is finished, then you can proceed with putting up the walls and adding all the finishing touches.
The same is true with our spiritual foundation. Christ must be our foundation. Spending time with him in His Word and in prayer must be the anchor for our days. The atmosphere in your home will be a direct reflection of how connected you are to the source of Life. If you are spending the firsts of your day in communion with Him and anchoring your day in Truth, your foundation will be strong and you will be more equipped to build up the walls (your children) of your home with gentleness and grace.
Are you building your home up or tearing it down? What is something that the Lord is saying needs shifted and refined? This week is the week to say, "Lord I do not want to live this way anymore. This is not your will for my life. I crucify my flesh and commit to walking in the truth of your Word (insert specific truth for your current situation). You sent your Son to die for me so that I would have LIFE and LIFE ABUNDANTLY. No longer will (insert whatever is holding you back) keep me from walking out my God given assignment to train and disciple my children to walk in the abundance God has for them. I want to be a mother (or father) who walks in wisdom and truth and builds up her home. Thank you Lord for the wisdom that comes from knowing and aligning myself with your ways. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Commit to rising before your children this week and spending time in the Lord's presence. Allow Him to highlight to you the things that you can work on that will build your home up in wisdom.
