ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Heidi!

I am the creator behind Dwell In Your Heart. I am married to my best friend and together we train and disciple two precious blessings from the Lord. We are a homeschooling family and are passionate about seeing families thrive in their God given authority! I love Jesus and studying His Word and believe that the Lord speaks just as clearly today as He did thousands of years ago.

Purpose

Our Mission

We believe that the home is where faith is formed and passed down for generations to come. God calls us to actively train and disciple our children in faith (Deuteronomy 6) and to be transformed by the living and active Word of God.

Our mission is to offer Biblical resources and encouragement that help families grow closer to God and walk in the full power and authority they have in Christ.

Bible

I believe the Bible, while written by human authors under the direction of the Holy Spirit, is fully trustworthy, without error, and is the final authority in all matters. Every word is breathed out by God and is an unshakeable foundation for life and faith. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The Triune God

  • I believe in one God who is the Creator of all things and has always existed (Gen 1:1).
  • I believe in the Trinity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-eternally one God, equal in glory and majesty (1 John 5:7)

GOD THE FATHER

  • I believe God is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, sovereign, infinite, eternal, unchanging, holy, just, righteous, loving, good, and true.
  • He is perfect in mercy, patience, love, justice, wisdom, knowledge, and holiness and is worthy of all praise. (Exodus 34:6-7)

GOD THE SON

  • I believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Savior of the World. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died for our sins, rose to life three days later, and ascended and is seated at the right hand of our Heavenly Father. (Col 1:15; John 1:14; 1 John 3:5)
  • I believe that Jesus will come again to righteously judge the world at his Second Coming. (Rev. 19:11-16)
  • I believe Jesus has always existed from the beginning with God. (John 1:1-3)

God the Holy Spirit

  • I believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer and is our intercessor before our Father in Heaven. He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (Titus 3:5; John 14:26; John 16:7)

Salvation

  • I believe all people are sinners separated from God and in need of salvation. (Romans 3:23).
  • I believe that Jesus, who was fully man and fully God, came to save His people from their sins through His sinless life, death, resurrection, and ascension where he is now seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. (Matthew 1:21)
  • I believe that through the blood of Jesus, our sins are forgiven, and we are given a new identify in Christ, refined and strengthened by the Holy Spirit when we believe and trust in Jesus as our Savior. (1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  • I believe that genuine repentance and acknowledgment of faith and trust in Christ alone saves you. (Eph. 1:13-14)

On Earth As It Is In Heaven

  • I believe that all of God's people are to live set apart and to live "on Earth as it is in Heaven." Christ came and died, not so we could stay bound in sin, but to have LIFE and have LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY! (1 Peter 1:15-16; Leviticus 20:26, John 10:10)
  • I believe in signs, wonders, and miracles and that the whole Bible is still for today. (Mark 16:17-18)
  • I believe in living a holy, sanctified life, overcoming sin! (Ephesians 5:25-27)

Family

  • I believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman only. (Matthew 19:4-6)
  • I believe that every person is created in the image of God and has been created as either male or female. God doesn't make mistakes. (Genesis 1:27)
  • I believe that parents are tasked by God to train and disciple their children in the Word of God. Parents are to diligently teach the Word of God to their children-in everyday moments at home, as you are coming and going, lying down for the day etc. (Deut. 6: 4-8)
  • I believe that parenting and building a home on the foundation of Truth is an active, daily commitment. Biblical parenting is ACTIVE not PASSIVE.
